Area of triangles shaded area

This week prime 4 and 5 have been learning all about the area of triangles. We have to time the base by the height. We did three-step problem-solving. Firstly, you have to work out the area of the square. Then you 1/2 the base with 2. Then you time the height with the base. Example Area = 1/2  8 times 7 = 56.
